1. What happens to my credit card information when I reserve online? Is it secure?

Yes! Choice Hotels Canada's online reservations system is secure and your guest information (including credit card) will be encrypted as it passes over the Internet.

You will be switched to our secure server when personal information such as guest data or credit card numbers need to be transmitted. You can tell you are on our secure server when the address begins with "https" rather than "http". Also, a lock will display in your browser notifying you that the page is secure. 2. Do I need to give my credit card to make an online reservation?

Yes, your credit card is required to guarantee your room. When you reserve your room with a credit card, the room is held for you regardless of your arrival time. This means the hotel is required to hold your room for you until 7 a.m. the morning following your date of arrival.

Your credit card is not charged for your stay prior to your arrival unless the hotel has a prepayment or deposit requirement. Prepayment and deposit requirements are displayed for hotels during the CONFIRMATION process. A warning will display if the hotel requires a deposit or prepayment.

3. How do I view or cancel a reservation that I reserved online?

To view or cancel a reservation online, click on View Reservation on the homepage. You can use this form to view any reservation that you made online at any Choice Hotels®branded website or that you made over the phone with a Choice Hotels reservations sales representative.

If you made a reservation directly with a hotel, you will need to call the hotel directly to ask about the reservation.

4. What happens if my plans change and I forget to change or cancel my reservations? Will I be charged?

Since you guaranteed your room for arrival using your credit card, you will be billed a minimum of one night's stay if you do not cancel your reservation prior to the cancellation deadline. Since cancellation policies vary from hotel to hotel, you may have additional liabilities. Please be sure to note the cancellation policy when making reservations online. This information is originally displayed once you have selected a room to reserve and will also be included once your reservation has been confirmed.

Due to provincial and local laws, the pet policy varies by location. To verify that a hotel accepts pets, look under "Details" or "Hotel Services and Amenities" in the hotel's "Hotel Information" page.

7. How do I find out if a specific hotel has accommodations for people with disabilities?

Choice Hotels brand franchises are required to comply with the Access Canada Program. If there is not specific information listed on the "Services/Amenities in Some Rooms" please contact the hotel directly to obtain information regarding their accommodations.
