Encompassing 2550 hectares (6301.18 acres), Samuel De Champlain Provincial Park is an extensive park straddling the Mattawa River in the picturesque Mattawa Valley. The park gets its name from one of the earliest French explorers of Canada, Samuel De Champlain. Opportunities for hiking, biking, canoeing, sailing, swimming, picnicking, birdwatching and more are provided at this park. Well facilitated camping grounds are also available. An education center is also located on site.
